Breve revisión de literatura sobre el diseño de los regímenes cambiarios

Resumen
"Basada en literatura teórica y empírica de autores expertos en materia de las finanzas internacionales, el artículo presenta una discusión sobre el diseño de los regímenes cambiarios. Sin que se tome escogencia alguna de cuál es el régimen apropiado, en cada estado de la historia económica de los países. se enumeran ventajas y desventajas de estos sistemas.
Se presentan ejemplos de crisis cambiarias en el ámbito internacional, tomando como referencia estudios realizados por organismos financieros como el Fondo Monetario Internacional. Para la historia monetaria en Latinoamérica, los casos de Argentina, Brasil y México dejaron lecciones aprendidas.
Finalmente, tomando en cuenta esta revisión de esta literatura teórica y empírica y de las ventajas y desventajas de uno u otro tipo de régimen cambiario, se motiva al análisis y la discusión sobre el diseño del sistema cambiario en Costa Rica. El Banco Central de Costa Rica interviene como agente privilegiado y con información privilegiada en el precio del tipo de cambio colón/dólar. Este hecho, en términos de un diseño de mercados a futuros en el tipo de cambio, es un elemento que requiere sumo análisis en la microestructura de mercado. Estos elementos son objeto de las conclusiones del artículo."
